I AM MONKE

About the Red-Faced Monkeys of Japan

The red-faced Japanese macaque, also known as the snow monkey, is native to Japan. These intelligent and social primates are famous for bathing in hot springs during the cold winters of the Japanese Alps. With a striking red face and bottom, the macaque thrives in both forested mountains and subtropical regions. Their diet includes fruits, seeds, and even insects. Social hierarchy is vital in macaque troops, and grooming is an essential behavior for bonding. These monkeys embody the adaptability and cultural curiosity of primates.
